“These girls are so professional and truly put their heart and soul into their work!”
That’s what one reviewer wrote about our clients Breanna Koski and Joanna Duka of Brush & Nib Studio, an art studio that specializes in hand-painting, hand-lettering, and calligraphy.
And it’s true. You can see their heart and passion reflected in each piece of art they create.
Breanna and Joanna craft a number of custom pieces celebrating their client’s special moments, including: birth announcements, graduation announcements, dinner invitations, personalized cards and stationary, prints, wedding invitations, save-the-dates, and pretty much any little wedding detail you can bring to mind.
They collaborate with and then ship to clients across the country to deliver artwork that fulfills each client’s needs. Together they discuss the artwork, the occasion, and the client’s ideas, and Breanna and Joanna take all that and bring the artwork to life.
By pouring their creative thoughts and talents into each custom work, Breanna and Joanna are participating in that event with their clients – they rejoice with them at the happy news of a baby, or at the triumph of a graduation, or at the start-up of a new business.
Their additional reviews confirm as much:
I am beyond impressed with the thought and care that went into their work!
These ladies ooze creativity and beauty.
I couldn't be happier with the end result and will treasure these pieces forever.
When they deliver a finished work, they are not only helping to express the client’s joy, but sharing in that joy.
That is why it is so important that Breanna and Joanna have the freedom to take on the projects that they choose. And while they will work with anyone to create a custom piece, they cannot agree to use their artistic talents to celebrate ANY message or event if it contradicts their faith.
However, an Arizona judge refused to halt a Phoenix ordinance that threatens Breanna and Joanna with fines and jail time if they decline to take on custom projects which violate their faith.
“…[T]here is nothing about the creative process itself, such as a flower or vine or the choice of a particular font or color, that conveys any pledge, endorsement, celebration, or other substantive mandated message,” reads the decision.
Breanna and Joanna – and the clients they serve – see this differently. It’s more than just a flower or a vine, a particular font and color. It is the use of their time, effort, energy, thoughts, ideas, and artistic talents to create a meaningful piece of art that celebrates a certain message or event.
