This week, we look at The Wall Street Journal’s coverage of Selina Soule, who is challenging a Connecticut rule that allows biological males to compete in female high school athletics. Selina filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education, standing up for fair competition in her sport. Also, a Pew Research study shows growing religious hostility toward Christians across the globe, the APA trends toward endorsing polyamory, and a pro-life victory comes from the unlikeliest of places. All of this from the Alliance Alert team.

The Wall Street Journal: A Connecticut Girl Challenges Male Domination of Female Sports
After two biological males claimed the top two spots in a girls' high school track qualifier, Selina Soule was left as a spectator of her own sport. Despite her hard work and dedication spent shaving off just fractions of a second of her track time, Selina had no chance against male competitors. Alliance Defending Freedom recently filed a civil-rights complaint to the Department of Education on behalf of Selina and other female athletes like her, saying that schools like the ones in Connecticut that allow males claiming to be female to compete in girls' sports is a violation of Title IX. Madeline Kearns writes in The Wall Street Journal how important this complaint could be in determining if discrimination on the basis of sex is based on scientific reality or subjective feelings.
Christianity Today: No Matter Where You Are, Religious Freedom Is Getting Worse
On the eve of the U.S. Department of State's second ministerial on religious freedom, Pew Research Center released a look at religious restriction violations from 2007 to 2017. The research shows that religious persecution is a growing problem across the globe, especially for Christians. While China and Russia have become more restrictive, growth in hostility toward religion can be seen in Europe and even the Americas. Griffin Paul Jackson breaks down the findings for Christianity Today.

The Daily Wire: American Psychological Association Creates Task Force To Normalize Polyamory
The American Psychological Association appears to be on course to endorse polyamory, going so far as to sugarcoat the practice by calling it "consensual non-monogamy." The APA says it has created a task force which seeks to destigmatize "polyamory, open relationships, swinging, relationship anarchy, and other types of ethical, non-monogamous relationships," which leads one to wonder where the line is drawn on "ethical" relationships. One member of the APA has said the organization has abandoned all scientific reason in favor of advancing progressive ideas.

The Daily Caller: Appeals Court Knocks Down Bids To Block Trump Administration’s Title X Abortion Clinic Rule
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit upheld an earlier decision by the court to allow a Trump administration rule that blocks Title X funding to abortion facilities and other types of clinics that refer for abortions. Planned Parenthood could lose "tens of millions of federal family planning dollars," and while Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen says the court's decision is "devastating" to her organization, Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser called it “wonderful news” that increases the likelihood of final victory on this issue.
