It’s been an interesting few weeks on the political stage as a number of issues Alliance Defending Freedom engages on have become hot topics for politicians.
Senator James Lankford (R-OK) recently spoke about religious liberty and mentioned two Alliance Defending Freedom cases that have risen to the U.S. Supreme Court; Stormans v. Wiesman, in which a family run pharmacy was forced to carry abortion inducing drugs even though the owners had a moral and religious objection, and Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbia v. Pauley, the only religious liberty case before the court this term.
Seemingly out of the blue, Donald Trump announced he would defund Planned Parenthood last week. Then at the Values Voters Summit he spoke about the Johnson Amendment which ADF has been working to have struck down as unconstitutional for its regulation of sermons.
