BLOGA 12-Week Preborn Baby Saved Because the Father Wouldn’t Give Up

By Marissa Mayer Posted on: | August 10, 2016

When a group of people from the Pray for Life Center held a prayer vigil outside a New Hampshire Planned Parenthood on a recent Thursday, they had no idea how God was going to use them that day.

One couple who arrived at the abortion facility quickly walked passed them, refusing offers for help. Shortly after, however, the man returned to his car to leave. Once more, he was offered help. This time, he shared his heart with the willing listeners.

“He stopped and told us he wanted his baby. He said she was 12 weeks pregnant. We gave him a 12-week fetal model and asked him to go back inside and give it to her. He hesitated then quickly got out of his car and went back inside. Less than 30 minutes later the three of them, father, mother, and baby, drove away, but not before the father said, ‘Thank you.’”

This was the story relayed by the Pray for Life Center and it’s a story that has special meaning for us here at Alliance Defending Freedom.

At ADF we litigate a lot of cases. With hearings and appeals—many of them take years before they are resolved. Reddy v. Foster is one such case.

In 2014, ADF filed the lawsuit against a New Hampshire law that created a 25-foot censorship zone outside of abortion facilities. The law prevented citizens, particularly pro-life advocates, from speaking, standing, or even entering the public ways and sidewalks outside of these facilities.

Thankfully, in June 2014, the United States Supreme Court unanimously struck down a similar law in the ADF case of McCullen v. Coakley. This victory allowed ADF attorneys and allied attorneys to secure a court order against the New Hampshire law to prevent it from being enforced. The case was dismissed, but ADF appealed, and the abortion facility directors have said they are not drawing these censorship zones while the lawsuit is pending.

It is that initial temporary order and our ongoing court battle that made it possible for these faithful prayer warriors to have the privilege of supporting a hurting family and saving a life that day. Praise God!
