The Hill: Reviving the ERA: Using women's rights to undermine women's rights>
A renewed push for ratification of the so-called “Equal Rights Amendment” is rife with big problems—which may explain why its proponents are seeking to sidestep the Constitution and the American people to get it on the books. Writing at The Hill, ADF Senior Vice President for U.S. Legal Division Kristen Waggoner points out that despite its proponents’ efforts to frame the ERA as essential for the equal treatment of women, the law accomplishes the opposite goal. As Waggoner explains, the ERA is the latest in a string of attempts to change "sex" to “gender identity.” Applying that definition, certain states have used their own version of an ERA to allow biological males to compete in women’s sports and use locker rooms and other privacy spaces based on gender identity. None of that is good for women. Yet the ERA would introduce this kind of chaos and a whole lot more on the national level if it were adopted—something Americans could live without.
Fox News: Religious freedom in 2020 — three key challenges and how to fight back
From the U.S. State Department Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, to actions within the United Nations to commemorate victims of religious intolerance, 2019 saw many steps to advance global religious freedom. Rev. Joseph D'Souza writes at Fox News that 2019 was a banner year for religious freedom, but he also warns that there is much work to be done. Most of the world still lives under government-sanctioned religious restrictions, which D'Souza highlights in this article. D'Souza says the road to get there won't be easy, but there are ways that certain nations can take steps to ensure global religious freedom for all.

The Wall Street Journal: States Weigh Measures to Stop Transgender Athletes From Competing in Women’s Sports
Can women and girls count on state legislatures to ensure they have a fair playing field? The Wall Street Journal reports that Republican lawmakers in five states—Georgia, Missouri, New Hampshire, Tennessee, and Washington—have introduced or are preparing to introduce legislation that guarantee female athletes don't have to compete against biological males based on gender identity. The lawmakers cite the situation in Connecticut involving ADF clients Selina Soule and Alanna Smith, who have filed a Title IX complaint against their state's scholastic athletic association. As Tennessee Republican Rep. Bruce Griffey puts it, the goal of the bills is a simple one: “I’m just trying to maintain fairness … I don’t want girls to be at a disadvantage.”

The Daily Caller: Court Grants Order Preventing Texas Hospital From Removing Baby’s Life Support Against Family’s Wishes
The Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth, TX, granted emergency relief to a baby on life support, giving her family more time to fight for her life. In a ruling last Thursday, Tarrant County Judge Sandee Marion said Cook Children’s Medical Center could take the child off life support against the mother's wishes. The next day, the appeals court issued its ruling in order to have more time to consider the case. Trinity Lewis, the mother of Tinslee Lewis, says that she wants to be the one to make the decision for her child, who was born in February 2019 with a rare condition and has been on life support since last July. Texas Right to Life, which is representing Ms. Lewis in court, says that Tinslee is "not in immediate danger of death."
