This week, we look at the story of Selina Soule, who has become a spectator of her own sport because two biological males who claim a female identity have beat out the competition in high school track and field. In Minnesota, a powerlifting association tries to keep a biological male from competing in women’s powerlifting. Plus, Illinois gets extreme on abortion, and Planned Parenthood and other groups sue to force doctors to perform abortions. All of this from the Alliance Alert team.

Fox News: Biological boys compete in women's sports?
When Selina Soule lost the opportunity to compete in the New England regionals for track and field, she knew she had to speak out. Selina missed qualifying by two spots—the two spots were instead claimed by two biological males competing in the women’s track meet. Selina and ADF Legal Counsel Christiana Holcomb speak to Tucker Carlson about how policies allowing biological males to compete in female sports isn't fair and destroys the opportunities of female athletes like Selina. In a matter of months, one male athlete set ten new women’s records, taking down records set by ten different girls over a number of years. Rather than getting a fair race against female competitors and potentially receive a college scholarship, Selina is forced to be a spectator at the regionals. Selina along with two other similarly affected girls with their ADF attorneys have filed a Title IX complaint to protect equal opportunity and fairness in female athletics.
The Washington Examiner: Planned Parenthood, ACLU sue Trump administration over 'conscience protections' rule
Not satisfied with multi-million dollar profits, media alliances, and support from Hollywood, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU are suing the Trump administration to force medical professionals to perform abortions against their will. The HHS announced that it will protect doctors, nurses, and physicians from performing procedures that violate their conscience. In response, Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen spouts the non-sequitur that people of conscience cannot "use those beliefs" to harm women.

The Daily Caller: USA Powerlifting Federation Prepares To Defend Transgender Athlete Policy In Court
USA Powerlifting says it’s prepared to go to court in order to protect fair competition in female athletics. A biological male filed a discrimination complaint to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights because USA Powerlifting bases its competitions on biology, claiming that the sports federation discriminated against his "gender identity." USA Powerlifting told The Daily Caller, "At some point, we are going to have to defend the biology and stand on women being a protected class, and it might as well start in Minnesota."

National Review: Illinois Governor Signs Bill Scrapping Third-Trimester Abortion Restrictions
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a bill into law last week that explicitly states that unborn children do not have independent rights, while women have a "fundamental right" to abortion. The law no longer requires a second doctor to approve an abortion after viability. The law also allows abortions for the "health" of the patient, which is loosely defined and essentially allows abortion on-demand in Illinois. The new law, in the words of the Thomas More Society, “legalizes the death penalty with no possibility of appeal, for viable unborn preemies.”
