You’ve seen the rhetoric. You’ve seen the rallies. Planned Parenthood is desperate to keep its government funding. And they will go to extreme lengths to do it.
Perhaps one of their biggest talking points since President Trump took office and promised to cut Planned Parenthood’s government funding—a promise that has yet to come to fruition—is that women will die if Planned Parenthood is defunded.
Die. Stop breathing. And why? Because a multi-billion dollar organization like Planned Parenthood wouldn’t have government funding.
This extremist language is irresponsible. The abortion giant and its allies are doing women and girls in need a huge disservice by trying to convince them that Planned Parenthood is their only option for healthcare (let alone life-saving care).
But the good news is that you don’t have to wonder if Planned Parenthood is telling the truth when it comes to making such outrageous claims. Their numbers simply don’t lie.
The below infographics and accompanying research by the Charlotte Lozier Institute examine the information that Planned Parenthood provides each year in its annual report. These numbers show Planned Parenthood for what it truly is—an abortion mill that doesn’t provide any healthcare services that aren’t widely and affordably available elsewhere.
The bottom line is that Planned Parenthood sees only about 2-3 million patients each year. But federally qualified health centers, which offer comprehensive, affordable healthcare, serve over 24 million patients each year. So even if Planned Parenthood were to disappear, other entities providing real healthcare (not abortion) to women could easily step in and fill the void.
