BLOGIf You Thought the “Abortion Distortion” Was a Thing of the Past, You Haven’t Used Google to Find Pro-Life News Lately

By James Arnold Posted on: | February 13, 2017

Last weekend, pro-life advocates stood outside of Planned Parenthood facilities across the U.S. to protest the abuses of the abortion industry.

If you tried to find information about these peaceful gatherings before they happened, however, you likely discovered more about counter-protests than the gatherings themselves.

Let's take a look at that phenomenon.

First, learn more about what the pro-life advocates were protesting here.

Second, here are the results when searching for "protesting against Planned Parenthood feb 11":

Note that the top stories are all about counter-protests, despite our search aiming to learn about the protests. That's a little bizarre, to say the least.

Some defenders of the abortion giant think counter-protesting is counter-productive, while others believe that counter-protesting is necessary.

Still others believe that counter-protesting provides the opportunity to "confront and neutralize" pro-life arguments. How, exactly, do these folks plan on neutralizing pro-life arguments?

Why, pithy signs, of course!

Here is an article with a few examples (and our commentary in the brackets):

  • “Fact checked: The Lord says he’s ok with it” [We’re still waiting for the citation showing the Lord’s approval.]
  • “Don’t say you follow Jesus if stopping abortion trumps love, truth, peacemaking, compassion, feeding the hungry, caring for the poor . . .” [We suspect it doesn't for most protesters.]
  • If the baby goes to heaven And the doctor goes to hell If the woman gets forgiveness What’s the problem pray tell!? [Murder? The taking of an innocent life created in the image of God is the problem.]
  • Jesus focused on real people [So do pro-life people.]

The article goes on to describe pro-life advocates as bullies and says that “[s]ometimes, the only way to stop a bully is to hit back.”

“Bullies,” you say? Pro-life advocates are aiming to protect some of the most vulnerable members of our society: the unborn. From 2012 to 2014, Planned Parenthood ended the lives of nearly one million unborn babies. There hasn't been a more recent report from Planned Parenthood (which is troubling).

If you want to learn more about why Planned Parenthood should be defunded, check this out.
