On Sunday, September 4, Pope Francis will elevate Mother Teresa to sainthood. During her lifetime, Mother Teresa was an unrelenting advocate for the sanctity of human life—especially the poorest of the poor and the unborn—and the holiness of marriage and the family. In one of her most famous addresses at the National Prayer Breakfast in 1994, St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion.”
As we celebrate the life and faith of this tiny, holy, Albanian nun, let us ask God to give us the same passion and courage to stand for the Truth of Christ always and in all ways.
“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”
