March MadnessUniversity - Free Speech

Bracket of Shame

Alliance Defending Freedom has nearly 400 wins against public universities, including several in this year’s NCAA Tournament, that have violated students’ First Amendment rights. On the ADF Blog, Casey Mattox, the ADF Director of the Center for Academic Freedom, details how he thinks the bracket would play out if the schools with the worst histories for protecting students’ speech rights advanced. (You can see his bracket below).

About the Center for Academic Freedom

The Center for Academic Freedom (CAF), an Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) initiative, is dedicated to providing students and student organizations with support and information as they face escalating attacks on their free speech and religious freedom at America’s public universities.

All students should be protected to freely speak and engage in the marketplace of ideas on campus under the First Amendment. ADF has been blessed to successfully litigate more campus cases than any other organization, and has a 100% success rate against anti-free speech zones on public university campuses. All told, ADF has secured nearly 400 victories for campus free speech.

If you are a student who would like our help in addressing policies stifling the First Amendment on your campus, please contact us
